Tramways are complicated electro/mechanical machines. There are thousands of moving parts and electronic devices. Each part has to be correctly installed and tested before the tramway is ready for public operation. The testing must be done in a methodical manner to ensure that all of the components are tested and perform as expected. This is the goal of the "acceptance testing" of the tramway.
Tramway Engineering has been responsible for the testing of over 100 tramways in the past 20 years. Tramway Engineering was retained as a private consultant by the State of Colorado Tramway Safety Board for initial testing of the majority of larger lifts in the State. In addition, Vail Resorts has used us for the testing of all of their new lifts for the past 15 years. We write test procedures, conduct the testing and document all of the tests.
