Operation of a tramway it an ongoing affair. There must be a continual assessment of the of the operation and maintenance program to ensure the tramway continues to be safe for public operation. These reviews are required by authorities and insurance companies. The lift must be inspected annually or every 2000 hours by a qualified independent engineer according to ANSI B77.1 standards. During the annual inspections, all of the electrical and mechanical components of the lift are tested. The operations and maintenance logs are reviewed for completeness. The required specialized inspections for wire rope inspections and grip non-destructive testing are verified. Any modifications to the lift are inspected to ensure that they conform to the manufacturer's standards. |
